You cannot out exercise a bad diet. It’s just not possible! Have you ever done a killer workout, gotten home, had a craving and thought, Oh I can have that…I just worked out! You are not a pro athlete, at least I’m guessing you’re not. Maybe you didn’t cancel out your workout calorie for calorie, but you are not moving forward much by doing this. I am not a fan of diets, but I do believe in diets to get you going. Following some sort of plan to get you in motion, create some new habits, and rid the body of junk can be really great. But, who can really follow a diet forever? So, after you get going, see some positive results, and have the needed motivation, it’s time to just eat right. Eat whole clean foods most of the time and you got it!Do not discount how import this principle is!

You can have a great workout routine, but if your diet is not in check, you may be spinning your wheels.
80% is a lot of the time! It is most of the time actually! Good eating is a cornerstone of health, longevity, and fitness. The cool thing about healthy eating is that the more you do it, your body and taste buds change. You will start to desire large salads and fresh fruit for dessert. You will start to notice that other foods affect how you feel, how you think, and how you sleep. That does not mean your tastes for cookies goes away, but hopefully you will want them less often because of how good the healthy food is making you feel. Eating moderately is key to life long health and wellness success. That includes wine, cake, ice-cream cones, pizza, lazy Sundays, easy walks, sleeping in and more!
Even if you start eating whole clean foods most of the time, and you don’t see the results you are after-carry on! You may not see a 5 pound weight loss immediately like you might with some low carb diet, but I guarantee you that your body is adapting and changing. Continue making good choices and you will see results on more than just the scale. Actually, weight-loss is a bonus. Stay focused on the fact that eating the right foods will fuel you to work harder, have more energy, think more clearly, fight off disease, and be a happy person! Who wouldn’t want that?!

Don’t get me wrong here, exercise is very important! Exercise will help you build muscle, tone, lift and cinch. It will make you stronger, faster, and more efficient in all of your activities of daily living. Exercise even transcends and makes you more confident outside of the gym! Not only can it change the bod you see in the mirror, but more importantly, it keeps your insides healthy and strong! As great as exercise is, we are not 17 anymore and able to eat whatever we want and still look fine…even if you’re working out all of the time! People ask me how often they should workout. I like to say:
Exercise is nature’s natural Prozac! It’s legit! I don’t know anyone who can walk away from a good workout grumpy!
I am not talking about some joint pounding workout either. Simple walks are great! Make your exercise as intense as you want it to be, but just know, it doesn’t have to be.
It’s proven that regular exercise reduces cortisol levels, reduces stress levels. If you want to have a lower body fat, if you want to live longer, if you want to FEEL better, and if you don’t want to have as much stress, you need to exercise on a daily basis. Bonus, you might get off some of your medications!
But remember for your exercise to be most effective, you must:

Some of us are they way we are because of our genes. Instead of trying to fight it, we should embrace it! Maybe your mom, your grandma, and your aunts all have a round behind. If you do too, stop fighting it and embrace your curves! Maybe your father and grandfather have high cholesterol. You may have high cholesterol despite great diet and exercise! My point here is that there are some things we can’t change. With all of this you must,

Eating the right foods is absolutely a must. You will be a happier, healthier person with exercise, but it doesn’t compare to what eating well can do for you!
