Try it Thursday: Healthy Whole Food Banana Bread!

One of my favorite cookbooks that was introduced to me by a good friend several years ago is, Wholesome Sugar Free Cooking. These recipes are indeed wholesome, including basic ingredients that are good tasting and good for you. The recipes are not complex (probably why I like it so much as I'm not a fan of being in the kitchen too long!) and usually pretty tasty! One of my favorites is the banana bread!DSC_0023
Healthy Whole Food Banana Bread!

Serves: 8 servings
Less guilt, more whole goodness!
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cup ripe bananas
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ c honey
  • ¼ cup oil (I use coconut)
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • ½ cup nuts (optional)
  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
  1. Mix wet ingredients together, then add dry ingredients. Mix well. Pour into greased large bread pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour.
Most people have some bananas lying around the kitchen. Before you toss them into another smoothie or even in the trash, treat yourself with this awesome bread!
