Star jumps are a plyometric move that I have been using in my trainings for a while now. Despite burning quadriceps, screaming glutes, and a racing heartbeat, this move is so much fun. I often have requests for it at the end of a workout just to ensure we go out on a high note!

To begin sink way down into a deep squat. You must get low to get high! Push your tush way back and make sure our knees are not jetting out over your toes.

As you begin to jump into the air, tighten you core, and begin to throw your arms up and out into the air.

When you are up in the air extend your arms up and out at an angle, and legs out as well. You are now a STAR!

This is a great move to incorporate into you HIIT workouts as it will provide you with both cardio and strength training. It is a tough one so be sure to modify if you need to by simply taking out the jump-making sure your feet do not leave the ground. You will still get low in your prep, and will rise up shooting and extending your arms out. Your will feel this in every way-even without the jump!

Star jump fail! Getting a pic of this can be challenging! Especially when you can't stop laughing!

If you want to shoot me some summer pics of you star jumping, have your photographer start the picture while you are in the prep position and hold the camera button down capturing many photos while you leap and land. You should have a good one in there somewhere! #habitudestarjump

It's just fun!

It’s just fun!

Try it! Start with 20-30 seconds doing as many as you can with good form!
You are stronger than you think you are!

Cassie
