Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Let’s Go Green!

There are so many fun things about Saint Patrick’s Day to celebrate, but in the world of wellness we must celebrate going green for Saint Patty’s Day! Here are a few ways for you to enjoy Going Green with me!



Kale Smoothie:
Handful of Kale
Half of a banana
Non Fat Plain Greek yogurt
Honey or Agave Nectar to taste

Blend in a Blender or Magic Bullet. Enjoy for breakfast or a healthy snack. It really is tasty!

I also enjoy juicing, and like to follow recipes for my juicing. However, I also like to toss ingredients into the juicer and see what comes out. I know how important it is to eat my greens, and it can be very time-consuming and take up a lot of room in my stomach to consume that volume of food. I still want to get my micronutrients in, therefore I really appreciate my juicer! One of my favorite juices:

Mean Green:
3 Kale Leaves
1 Cucumber
2 Celery Stalks
1 Green Apples
1/4 Lemon
1/2 piece of  small ginger

If I am running low on items I love just juicing spinach and green apple!

Next, Dr. Oz Also has a recipe for a healthy Green Drink that he states is low in calories and rich in fiber.



How about some Kale Chips? I simply trim the leaves off of the stem and place them on a pan. Spray the leaves lightly with oil of choice and then season. I use a dash of sea salt and cayenne pepper. Bake on low until crispy!

Next, it wouldn’t be St. Patrick’s Day without taste testing a cocktail. Here are a few ideas to keep you on track with your fitness goals and allow you to celebrate in style!

Spearmint Vodka Cooler
83 calories, 10 grams sugar

Margarita Green
92 calories, 1 gram sugar

Green Iced Tea
128 calories, 1 gram sugar

125 calories for a 12-ounce glass

Irish Coffee
6 oz. Strong Coffee
2 oz. Vanilla Almond Milk
1 oz. Peppermint Schnapps
Brew coffee as desired. Add in almond milk and schnapps. Stir and drink.
